  • personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)
  • Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2)
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • severe gastrointestinal disease (gastroparesis)
  • history of pancreatitis (relative contraindication)
